In the 30 years since she founded Epoch 5, Katherine has directed dozens of crisis communications programs for many well-known organizations, lectured to industry and professional organizations on effectively dealing with crisis, been profiled in publications such as the New York Times for her expertise, and acted as spokesperson on numerous high-profile controversies. For Epoch 5's crisis management clients, Katherine has helped developed airtight crisis communications plans to successfully minimize the damage from crises. She and her associates at Epoch 5 have managed a variety of client crises from fires, floods and explosions to management misconduct, community protests, class action lawsuits, toxic waste, sexual harassment charges and AIDS in the workplace.

Katherine has a national reputation in the field of marketing communications and public relations. She is the founder and president of Epoch 5 Marketing, Inc., one of the metropolitan area's leading mid-sized public relations firm. Katherine has published articles in national magazines and major daily newspapers, appeared on national television and radio, and has presented seminars on public relations and crisis management throughout the United States. On a more regional level, she has been selected as Long Island's "Top 50 Women" and "Top 100 Influentials," and has been inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame.

Under her direction, Epoch 5 was awarded the Silver Anvil Award, the PR industry's most coveted award, and the national Mercury Award, for recognition of excellence in the PR community. Brochures and newsletters designed by Epoch 5 have also been singled out for high honors over the years.

Active in both the business and charitable life of Long Island, Katherine currently serves on the Boards of several educational and humanitarian organizations, as well as corporate and business associations, including: Board of Directors, Long Island's United Way; Board of Directors, United Way of New York State; U.S. Congressman's Citizens Review Board, and Chairman's Council of the Heckscher Museum of Art. Former affiliations include: Suffolk County Small Business Advisory Commission; Chair, Board of Directors, Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, Long Island Partnership; Board of Directors, Family Service League, Board of Directors, Nassau County Boy Scouts; and Board of Directors; Stony Brook Foundation.

She is the recipient of the Public Relations Professionals Lifetime Achievement Award, the Long Island Distinguished Leadership Award, and the Small Business Administration's Women in Business Advocate Award. Other honors include the United Way Caring Award for Long Island, the Good Deed Award by the Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America, honoree of The Vanderbilt Museum and the Presidents Award from the Dystonia Foundation.
