Andrew R. Kraus

Andy Kraus is a specialist in community relations and issues management, serving as an advisor, strategist and spokesperson for many high visibility clients on a variety of development projects. Projects have included a waste-to-energy plant, drug stores, hospital expansions, auto servicing centers and many others. His role has included identifying stakeholders and their issues, organizing stakeholder contact strategies, such as public meetings; developing community relations action plans; and acting as media spokesperson. He has also spoken before a number of local and national groups on crisis communications and community relations.
Andy has 20 years of experience in marketing communications on the agency and client sides, as well as for non-profits. He has worked with many market leaders in industries such as financial services, insurance and accounting. At Epoch 5 since 1991, Andy has managed accounts including American Ref-Fuel, CVS/pharmacy, Vytra Health Plans, KPMG Peat Marwick, Fleet Bank, Catholic Health Services of Long Island and a number of other professional services practices, including law and accounting firms. Additional Long Island clients have included real estate developers and high-technology firms.
Prior to joining Epoch 5, he was with several major New York City public relations agencies, including Cohn & Wolfe, which is part of the Burson-Marsteller network, one of the largest in the world. In New York, he supervised a variety of accounts including banking giants Chase Manhattan and Citicorp, and others such as State Farm Insurance, MasterCard, Hasbro, the United States Mint and Welsh Development International.
On Long Island, Andy also worked for Greenstone & Rabasca Advertising, at the time Long Island's largest ad agency, and Kopf & Isaacson. He began his career as a newsman, working as a reporter and editor for a number of daily and weekly newspapers near Philadelphia covering beats including the courts, business, government and politics.
He has continued his newspaper writing as a freelance writer for Newsday, which has published his profiles of Cold Spring Harbor and Lloyd Harbor. Andy has served as board president of the 350-member Sagamore Rowing Association, Lloyd Harbor; as an advisor to the board of Volunteers for Wildlife, Lloyd Harbor; and currently is on the board of the YMCA of Long Island.
